Pros and cons of Wipro Technologies
PROS: Wipro Technologies provides awesome training (3 months) to freshers. This is essentially very helpful for people who do not have a computer background, such as people who do not take computers as a subject in school and/or belong to a non-circuit branch of engineering. It helps those who have a computer background refresh their knowledge. The idea behind this training is to put computer and non-computer people on an equal footing before starting work for Wipro Technologies. Training can be difficult at times, but it is ultimately beneficial.
CONS: The main downside is the package provided by Wipro. The package is very low as compared to other companies in the same sector. The environment is so competitive that sometimes it becomes difficult to survive.
Conclusion
Wipro faced many hurdles when it first started, the biggest being that its CEO, in an interview with Forbes, said he was seen as a joke for a consumer care company’s move into technology. So they changed their name from Western India Products Limited to Wipro. It was about credibility. But they invested heavily in R&D and talent. Wipro put in a lot of funding to create custom solutions and build a strong after-sales service network, which was not very prevalent in those days.
Today, the IT industry is strong, and so is Wipro. Wipro has a presence around the world, even in Latin America, where it has been difficult for them to gain experience. Wipro is one such company that keeps on growing and expanding across the globe.
