1. (02 October) Gandhi Jayanti National Holiday

· India celebrates the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi every year on 2 October.

· It is one of the 3 national holidays observed in the country.

2. (05 October) Dusherra National except for Manipur and Puducherry

· Dussehra or Dasahara or Dashain is observed normally at the completion of Navaratri each year.

· It is a historically important festival celebrated by the Hindus either in September or October.

3. (7 October) Eid-e-Milad

· The day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi is commemorated as the birth and death day of Prophet Mohammad.

· The day is observed in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal which is the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

4. (24 October) Diwali National except for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Daman, and Diu.

· This year, Diwali falls on Monday, October 24, 2022.

· It is believed that on this day Lord Ram and his wife, Sita, and his brother Lakshman returned to their home in Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile.

5. (26 October) Bhai Duj

· The festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated across the country in a traditional way.

· On the occasion, sisters make a seat for their brothers using rice flour.
