Commutes have been thrown into chaos this morning after transport delays across London.

Signal failures had led to issues on the Hammersmith and City Line and on the Victoria Line.

Meanwhile train cancellations also hit the Circle Line and Jubilee Line where there were minor delays.

 Passengers at the Seven Sisters underground station were pictured congregating on stairs and behind barriers due to ‘overcrowded platforms’.

Traffic was building from 7am as people looked for faster means of travel across the city.

Reporter Ruth Lawes said: ‘The travel this morning was absolute chaos.

The Tube stopped at Vauxhall

But there was no indication of how long it would take to fix.

‘I stayed on the tube trapped in Vauxhall for about 15/20 minutes before trying my luck with an alternative route.

There were hoards of people at Vauxhall bus station and it was impossible to get on a bus.
