Before the meeting

What is the purpose of the meeting

01

What do I want to achieve?

02

Who actually needs to be there?

03

What is the most appropriate time to hold the meeting?

04

What will be discussed (the agenda)?

06

What can reasonably be covered in the time available?

07

During the meeting

Like any form of communication, your meeting must be structured –

Outline the agenda points.

01

Encourage participation – through you!

02

Allocate responsibilities (especially as a note-taker/ timekeeper).

04

After the meeting

Ensure that the action plan is circulated.

01

Action agreed is implemented within the agreed time frame.

02

Failure to do so sends out the message that nothing happens as a result of your meeting, which lowers expectations for future meetings.
