Definition of habits and addictions
Habit
It is a type of action that has repetition by our behaviour automatically. Or we can say that some actions we do often and regularly. When we find it difficult to stop doing it that means we are habitual to do and can’t control our mind and body.
Addiction
A strong desire to do, use or catch on to something with repetition. Someone who got an addiction feels like he can’t live without that thing and it’s become like oxygen to breathe.

Differences in both
- A habit can be given up easily with your own activities like meditation, exercise, keep a busy schedule etc. But to give up addiction we require help of professionals and sometime medication or many activities.
- A habit may be having some negative direct or indirect impact on your life But addiction surely have a much more negative impact on your life like put yourself in risky situations, feel anxiety or stress if you stop using for a length of time the thing on which you addict, etc.
- A habit can be an addiction if you do it frequently or depend on it like, for example, some people drink wine occasionally to involve with their friends and when they feel better to sleep after it then while having any problem to sleep they start using it on a regular basis thus it became addiction.
- A habit is a behavior that has repetition of the act in a frequent manner and later the brain does it automatically. But an addiction is a compulsive need of something to the body, when unable to get then there are repulsive effects.
- Habits can be both positive and negative so it can’t be affect mental ability or our memory. But addictions are almost negative and can affect our mental ability or memory too.
- Some habit are positive values like looking both ways regularly before or while crossing the road and washing your hands after or before touch or eat anything. But addiction has no such type of values as they fill the life with negativity, stress, mental health etc.
Reasons for habits convert into addiction
- We ignore our habit without knowing the side effects of it.
- Low or no determination can lead these types of problems.
- The habit which we start to hide from anyone can be dangerous.
- Type of act we do alone to keep it secret by all.
- Less involvement with friends or society.
- Never accept to have a bad habit.
- Lie to parents or elders frequently for that act or thing
- Ignore early signs of negativity like memory loss, anxiety, aggression etc.
- 100 % believe in strangers or negative people
- Try to stay alone more time to run out of your elders.
Conclusion
By the above topic, I want to say that the habit can be changed and addiction can be controlled fully too only the thing we need is strong determination. We can set an example for our society by coming out from any kind of addiction and also we can see there are many examples of the people who did it and at the present time, they become heroes for society. Friends if you won’t be successful and want to live a long healthy and wealthy life then there is the best way to deal with everything is never ever ignore the early signs of anything it may be a habit, health, loss, or any kind of situation or action.
